Hey this is probabley a stupid question but how come my external case has two firewire ports and only one USB? can you doble connect?

It's to daisy-chain another firewire drive or device to it.

My firewire drive has 2 ports and i have it plugged into my iMac, and I plug another firewire drive into the other port instead of taking up the remaining firewire port on my iMac.
