Hi,

I have a late 2008 Macbook 13" and it runs like an absolute dog.

It is running OSX Yosemite and I've always put it down to not being able to cope with that OS.

Can I add additional memory to help? it has 2GB as standard.

Thanks

You will have to be MORE specific about the EXACT Mac you have before we can tell you specifically. Is your Macbook the white, black or unibody version? Without knowing the specifics, I think your Mac can likely be upgraded up to 8GB of memory..

Thanks, It's the Aluminium body.

What else do you need to know?

Thanks for your help.

Agree with Ashwin...need to know the exact model MacBook you have before giving you exact info (there were at least two MacBook releases in 2008). But depending on what you want to do...it's definitley upgradable to at least 4gig of RAM...and depending on the exact model...6gig or 8gig of RAM.

And just to be sure...is this a "MacBook" or a "MacBook Pro"? Some folks incorrectly call a MacBook Pro a MacBook...which can confuse things.

Just to be sure...is this actually a MacBook or a MacBook Pro?

It's definately just a MacBook.

Ok...good deal.:)

If it's a 2008 Unibody Aluminum MacBook...here's the deal:

"*Apple officially supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM. Originally, this model was only unofficially capable of stably supporting 6 GB of RAM, but as confirmed by site sponsor OWC, it is capable of supporting 8 GB of RAM if updated to Boot ROM Version MB51.007D.B03 and running MacOS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" or higher."

Thus you have 3 choices...upgrade the RAM to 4gig, 6gig, or 8gig.:)

Do you know who makes if for this model? Third Party.

Kingston say they don't support it?

Crucial memory?
