Hello, I want to know if someone knows how to repair this, im desperate right now. Office 2016 suite apps bouncing in dock but not opening, not even one of them. I tried already repairing my disk permissions, with no results; and i tried already to desisntall, and reinstall the apps with not result either. Im using a OSX Sierra (latest version available) and also the latest version of OFFICE 2016..

thank you in advance.

How did you remove Office 2016 and reinstall it? Did you follow Microsoft's instructions for removing Office 2016 that you can find here?

Suggestion would have been remove .plist files to the desktop in Library but your uninstall may well have compromised this.

I don't think the MS instructions were followed to the letter as they are not easy to understand especially for Office 2016. Office 2011 was much easier to completely remove. Completely removing everything to do with Office 2016 and then doing a clean install should have resolved his problem.

Thanks for telling us about Clean My Mac 3. We do not recommend Clean My Mac nor any other "cleaning" program as we have found most of them to be overly aggressive in removing things which should not be removed. All bets are off with your Office 2016 problems. We suggest a clean install of OS X and then install Office 2016 from your original MS image you downloaded from them. Don't forget that you will also need your activation serial number to reinstall MS Office.

I already fixed this issue with Microsoft tech support. Took 4 hours for them, controlling my mac remotely, to fix the problem.

The solution is to delete ALLLLLLL office files including preferences and plist, and folders in application support. Them clean trash and reinstall. Works perfectly.

If you would have followed the instructions to the letter in the link I provided you with above, you could have done the same thing without consulting MS. ;D

it's not working :(

Hi all, I am having the same problem and neither Apple or Microsoft support are being able to solve it. I've followed all the instructions provided in the link and still doesn't work.

Apple has escalated the issue to their engineering team.

Any advice?

Thanks.

I'm a little more concerned about why the icons on the dock were not working in the first instance. I hope the users concerned remove the old dock icons before reinstalling the Office package.

Rod and Sly:

Office 2016 is a nightmare to remove. Just log on to the Microsoft Office forums and read some of the complaints there. Also, Office 2011 takes up 2 GB of hard drive space for a full install while Office 2016 uses 10 GB!

And 45 minutes to an hour to do a proper uninstall!
