I've just started to use it to update my web pages to html 4.01
and I clicked the green button which enlarged it on the screen but hitting the escape button wouldn't return it to a normal view.
I think this happened with some other program also lately.
I'm still relatively new to Mac laptops (this has Yosemite OSX) and would like to know what to do when this happens.
Also I'm sure I'll have more questions concerning using this software.
Please let me know if you're experienced at using it.
Can this software display the page like someone else will see it?

I don't know anything about Aptana Studio (other than what is on their Web site.) However, may I recommend a different Web site development tool that you might like better?

BlueGriffon (free and open-source)

BlueGriffon is a WYSIWYG application that is very similar to working with a word processor. In other words, it's easy to use and learn to use. You also have the option of working in the raw HTML in the program, but you will rarely need to do so. The program is free and cross-platform.

Free video tutorial series:
(The tutorial does not use the Mac version of the program, but the program is virtually identical across platforms.)

I think this happened with some other program also lately.

On the Macintosh, in older versions of OS X, the green button in the upper left used to maximize the Window. In recent versions of OS X, it now, instead, puts you into full-screen mode. To get out of full-screen mode, hover the cursor towards the top left of the screen. The toolbar will drop down and you can click on the green button again to get out of full-screen mode. Hitting the Escape key won't work to get out of full-screen mode.

The simply maximize a window in Yosemite, hold down the Option key when clicking on the green button. To return a window to the size that it was originally, be sure to hold the Option key down and click on the green button again. (If you forget to hold down the Option key, instead of the window reverting in size, you will find yourself in full-screen mode again.)
