On Wednesday, I set up another Genius Bar appointment to look at my 2011 MBP. I was having the graphics problem again, I already had three logic boards replaced. The first two were under Apple Care and the third one was in April thanks to the repair extension. When the Genius told me it was going to be $300 this time, I wasn't expecting that. I assumed it would still be covered by the recall. He said, that was a one time thing. While it was still going through the stress test, he went and checked on something, and when he came back, he told me he was able to work something out. Not knowing what it was, I was happy he was trying to help me out. After a few seconds, he said, will you be ok with a new MacBook Pro? I was amazed that they would do that on a 5+ year old machine. I left there very happy with Apple, the Genius, and their customer service.

A BIG BIG congrats!!!:)

I have seen/heard of Apple doing this before (usually if it's something major & it's like the 3rd time reapairing it)...but certainly not something that everyone should automatically expect.

Again a BIG congrats!:)

Good to hear. Customer service doesn't come much better than that.

I know, I have been a fan of Apple since 2002, when I started using them at my tech college. Still didn't expect this.

A VERY VERY nice upgrade!:)

Now you have to update your Mac-Forums profile (no more 2011 15" MBP).;)

Thanks for that, I was started to get worried when the display started giving me problems two months after they replaced the last logic board. I was hoping I could make it last a few more months. But, this outcome is awesome.

Yes it is! Maybe better than Christmas, a birthday, and graduation combined (since it was so unexpected)!!!:)

I just noticed, my MBP is a Mid 2015 model. Not sure if there is any difference, between mine and 2016 models. ;D Still, can't be any happier with the outcome.

There are no 2016 MBP models yet. What you got is the "latest & greatest".:)

Nice Apple Fix and solution.

Certainly saves a lot of time & frustration with all the silly troubleshooting, disassembly, parts replacement hassles!;)
