Not really on the operation, but more the versions and names etc.
I have 10.4.6 currently. The "10" represents OS X, X being the Roman Numeral for 10 correct? Therefore 9.x.x would not be OS X.
With what version did Panther become Tiger? Is that the 9.x.x to 10.x.x switch? Or was this 10.1 to 10.2 for example?
Is there a resource that lays all of this out for me?
