Password Lost

I recently turned on my iBook G4 and was about to login as usual. For some reason this time though the password that I always use didnt work. What should i do??????????

1) retry

2) If you have the restore disks/install cd boot from that by inserting the cd/dvd then restarting and as soon as you hear the gong hold down C. when you startup, select your language. After, go to the utilities at the top and select reset password.

The reset password you're redering to is for the root user. you'll need to enable the root user first. unfortunately you'll also need a valid admin password to do that.

The reset password from the install media is for reseting the admin password. Since the root user is not enable at default. Also be sure the caps lock is not on. Because unix case sensitive.
