Upgrading my Mac Pro Tower 2012 from HDD to SSD

I've been using the factory 1TB HDD that came with my Mac Pro and after purchasing a Macbook Pro with and SSD, I just can't believe the speed difference. This is the first time I've upgraded my Mac Pro, so forgive me for my ignorance. Does the Mac Pro only support certain hardware? Would this SSD support OS X? Do you guys suggest an SSD other then the one I posted? If so, I'd appreciate some references.

Mac Pro (Mid 2012)
3.33 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
32 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB

Yes, that would be fine for your Mac Pro. You will need a 3.5" to 2.5" adapter so it will fit into your tower. On the page you linked to, there was a Sabrent adapter that would work, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015MSJ1DG/?tag=macforums0e4-20.

Right, but for the drive to fit into your Mac Pro, it needs the adapter to fit into the 3.5" bay.

Go to OWC also known as Mac Sales and puchase an Icy Dock. The SSD m,ounts in it, and it slides in and connectes as if a 3.5" drive. They areonly $20 plus postage.
