iMac intel problems with final cut and motion

Hello,
i have a brand new iMac dual core wit intel in it, but final cut 5 does not run. once i open it, it says that there is a configuration problem and i need AGP graphics. i checked the hardware it is equiped with ATI x1600. also motion 2 does not run. it opens and lets me select if i want a template or start from scrath or tutorial, but then after a minute or two it laods for less then a second and vanishes. anyone have any ideas on what i can do? thanks you

is your finalcut 5.1? is it universal binary? because apple pro apps do not work under rosetta.
anyway if you have final cut studio 5, you can trade it for 5.1 universal version for 49$ at apple.
