I was just reading VLC's press release about dropping support for PowerPC based macs, and I was wondering...

Would it be possible for some developer to create a "reverse rosetta" program that would allow new Intel-only programs to run on PowerPC Macs? I would very strongly doubt that Apple would release this, but perhaps some 3rd party...

I certainly except that all technology becomes obsolete and I do intend to upgrade to an Intel Mac in the next couple years, but I thought it was an interesting thing to consider...

Sounds like they don't use XCode. Apple instituted the one click Universal Binary with XCode. Perhaps that is not their (VLC's) development tool of choice.

Well looks like all PPC users have to download as many apps as possible in a couple of week period.
