CD Drive on Blue&White iMac

My old iMac ejects disks as soon as I put them in. It is very rare that a disk is accepted on the first try. ALL the disks are compatible with the drive and computer, so I really don't know why it's doing this. Is it just because it's a really old computer or is there something I can do to fix it? Please reply if you have any tips or suggestions.

dirty drive? Try one of those CDrom drive cleaning disks... I used one on my CD player, and it helped a lot.. Does your imac have a trayloading drive or a slotloading drive?
