I was thinking of looking for an iMac that's maybe broken so i can get it cheap and use as a second monitor, i use 2 27" iMacs at work (one is used for a second display) and the second iMac i use as a monitor is older than the main one i use and a bit rubbish, very slow etc.
It made me then think what are the bare minimum requirements to be able to use an iMac as an extra display? as it's only using the display the performance doesn't matter, or does it still need to be a functioning computer to work as a display?
Random question i know but id like my second screen to be an apple monitor/computer not a generic montior, but to buy an official apple monitor is crazy money.
