Hi,

I'm wondering if you guys could give me a second opinion on what mini to get.

Here is what the girlfriend will be using it for...

Email
Video conferencing
iTunes
iDvd
iMovie
Front Row
Surfing the Net

She won't be using games at all.

However, will there be a noticable difference when loads apps between the solo and duo? I was going to upgrade what ever one i get to a 100gb drive and throw in a iSight.

Is it worth paying the extra £70 for the duo?

Thanks in advance all

I would say it is worth paying extra for the Duo if you can afford it. Unlike PC's, Macs are not easily upgradeable in some areas. You need to stock up on performance parts you can't upgrade yourself. Things like Ram and the hard drive can always be addressed by you for less than what Apple charges. Things like the Processor, video card, or even the DVD drive are easier to just get from Apple. If you have the extra cash, go for the duo.

Yeah i think so, duo seems like the ideal cpu.

This will be my GF's first experience of a mac and i want it to be a good one. So i really need snappy loading and general good performance.
