Is commercial beta software free to download and use for an unlimited time? I assume they want feedback to fix bugs encountered. I am looking at Badia ContactPage XT 2.0b0 (beta) which sells for $70.

Most of the time, yes.

Adobe Lightroom will probably sell for hundreds of $$, but for now it's free. I'm sure Badia has some more info on their webpage.

Yes. Normally public betas are free. However you may not be able to get the updates and many other things they offer only with the commercial version.

Yes, most betas are free. Although Apple's betas requirer you to have an expensive developer account.... and OS X Public Beta was $30

Have just downloaded that Adobe Lightroom. It looks good so far. I will have to have a proper play around with it tomorrow.

It's been in beta for a while. It's Adobe's version of Aperture.

It is pretty good from what I have seen. Unfortunately as they are pitching it up against Aperture they will be pricing it accordingly.
