BT Homehub

Having received a flyer in the post about the latest BT package for residential customers, which looked excellent value I queried the requirement to include BT's Homehub.

A have an Apple Airport Extreme 5 with which I am very happy. In spite of the monthly saving I am loth to have to give it up. I think that this is an issue that the regulator (Ofcom?) ought to look into. Meanwhile I think I'll stick with my existing provider unless somebody can show me a way round the problem.

Presumably you have a modem between the Airport Extreme and the telephone line. The BT Homehub can be used to replace your modem and connect to the Airport Extreme.

Thanks. Yes I do. Presumably I would need to turn the Home Hub's wi-fi off or is that not possible?

Not sure about that but you might want to keep your existing modem as a backup or if you change ISP as the BT Home Hub ONLY works with BT and no other provider.
