ACDSee question

I needed a picture viewer while running OS X 10.1 and ACDSee came highly recommended. But I have one problem, the thumbnails don't show up as pictures but rather as files. Instead of an image it'll show a small square with the word "jpeg" on it. I want my thumbnails to show the actual image or ther's little point to having thumbnails in the first place. I've been all through the preferences and can't seem to make the adjustment. Anyone have experience with ACDSee?

I used it briefly, but didn't like it. I went with Graphic Converter instead because of it's ease of use and the fact that it was more than just a picture viewer.

ACDsee is a good app on Windows, but it's Mac version is not even worth mentionning...
I would also suggest Graphic Converter.
