I bought my iP6 a year ago and within months it was randomly shutting off without any warning even if my battery was 50% or more. So Apple gave me a new iP6. That was May 2015.

Now for the past month or two I've had random problems with the screen not responding to touch but only in particular spots on the screen. It had a screen protector installed professionally on day 1 even before I used it and was never used out of a case. Suffice it to say, it was in mint condition. I assumed it started when iOS 9.1 came out. It seemed to be around that time.

Well it turns out it had a defective screen. So once again Apple gave me a brand new iP6.

Anyone else had issues with iPhone 6's? Are they the lemon of all the generations of iPhones? I baby my devices so it's not me. Wonder what the odds of someone receiving 2 defective iPhones?

I haven't heard of any unusual problems with the iPhone 6. It may be that you were just unlucky as to receive two phones with defects. The good news is that Apple customer service is the best and that they replaced the phone twice with a new one. Let's hope you have better luck with it this time. ;)

Yes, I'm certainly very impressed with Apple's customer service. And, really glad I bought Applecare, cause this newest iPhone replacement was done in the beginning of my second year. Without AppleCare I'd have had to pay $379 + tax. Let's hope 3rd time is the charm!

I hope the screen protector is not coming loose or anything -- that could be causing the touch issues you are experiencing. Maybe try removing it -- if the problem goes away, yay, and if the problem doesn't go away you'll know it wasn't the screen protector and thus it will be Apple's problem to fix/replace. I've never felt the need for a screen protector, instead I get a case with a "lip" on it which will protect the screen in the event of a fall (which, happily hasn't happened yet).

chas_m it's not the screen protector. I had a Ghost Armor which is applied by Ghost Armor at their kiosk $30 and they are in my opinion better than Zagg's Invisible Shield. Anyway I removed it before going to see the Apple Specialist at the Apple store. They did a screen diagnostic and found it was faulty and so gave me a new iP6.

Excellent. I was just going through the standard troubleshooting routine there, but you were way ahead of me. :)

I have not heard of anything like that happening. I have had a few users that once the device gets to about 15% it will just shut off. The iPhone 6 is one of the most deployed devices in the company I manage, I have about 65 iPhone 6's and usually the issues stem from dropping and cracking the screen or dropping them into the toilet. Do you expose your phone to high temperatures such as sitting in the sun, or plugged in and charging all day?
