Updating My Motherboard

I have 16G of PC3-10600 DDR3 ECC ram from my brothers computer. The Ram is from his 3.33 GHz machine. I was wondering if it would run in this new motherboard I saw on ebay? Mac Pro A1289 Backplane Logic Board 639-0461 631-1427.

Is your brother's machine a Mac of the same vintage you are looking at? If not, probably no joy. Macs use low density modules whereas the majority of PCs use cheaper high density modules. That machine uses this memory:-
