Just Installed 10.4.6

Imac G5 17 inch w/ 1 gig of ram, 6 gb ipod mini, and 12" Powerbook G4
Ok so i just updated to 10.4.6 on my powerbook G4 and dang the freaking fan is blowing full blast and its getting the hottest its ever been! Anyone else having this problem? I'm not even doing anything just sitting at the desktop and the fan is blowing hard!

That worries me because I can kind of make out the sound of my fan and I'm not doing much either. Normally this 15inch PB is dead quiet.

Ya man thats what i mean. Mine is normally dead quiet and its really loud now!

Sounds like an evil plot by Apple to burn out Fans/Power Supplies and gain more revenue when you bring your Macs in to get them fixed!

I actually cant recall what full fans sound like so I'm gonna push it and see if it really is louder.

If your machine is idle and the fans are going full blast shut it down for awhile. If that doesnt work fill your bathtub with cold water and put it in there for awhile and see how its going after.

I have noticed the Fan issue. I restarted and its ok now

In case any of you didn't read the documentation that came with the update, it basically said that the restart time would be a lot longer due to the fact that OSX now repairs permissions any time it updates it's self, so that the user no longer has to after the install.

This probably accounts for the longer boot times.
