New software update for Intel users, I think also PPC. Check your system for new updates on the new version and what it fixes/does.

Just a reminder again! :doctor:

I think the update for PPC iMac was only like 63MB or something like that.

It was 108MB for me, and the install worked fine for me on my iMac Core Duo 17". Apologies, Texasmeat.

Mine was the 63MB one (g4 PB) and it worked fine although it was an odd install - it downloaded, took what seemed like forever to actually do anything, then rebooted the computer and the gray apple and spinning circle stayed on for almost 5 full minutes - I was beginning to think it had crapped out - then it finally rebooted again without ever coming up to the GUI, then finally after another 2-3 minutes of spinning circle it came up. It has worked perfectly ever since, just weird installing times.

Just a Heads UP. The update on PPC machines is supposed to do the Double Reboot. Read it in the notes before I even updated. It's normal so do not be afraid when it reboots twice.

Apple DOES listen ... if you bug them enough!!

Strange ... my PPC update was only about 27MB. Anyhow, this update FINALLY solved the problem I was having with the Mac Help and Mail Help menus. After several bug reports and e-mails to Apple, by me and likely several others, I can now click on these Help menus and no longer have a blank Help Viewer screen, or one with the spinning color wheel forever when I clicked on something that did happen to appear!

Great job, Apple! You proved to me yet again that you DO listen to user concerns -- eventually!

Hmm... strange... my iMac 17" works fine... all the problems I've been hearing with the Intel Core Duo iMacs are ALWAYS with the 20"... maybe the 20" are somehow more prone to bugs? or just plain defective?

Anyway 108 mb download, everything's smooth.
