I cant decide...

Hey everyone.

I cant really decide between the Cinema 20" or the Cinema 23".

The price different is 1299-799=$500 for three inches?

Is this worth it?! Three inches?!

Ay... What do you Cinema Panel Owners have? 20's or 23's?

Which would you suggest?

I dont have one, but i would go for 20inch because $500 is pointless for 3 blooming inches

i would go for the 23", cuz when i was buying my iMac (20") it looked much bigger than the 17" which is only a 3" diffrence.
20" 23" 30"(lol) or 54"

just get a 20"... $500 is not worth it for 3".... If you really want more space, buy another cheap 15" or 17 "LCD, and set your computer so it expands the desktop... That would be nice...

make your full decision once you go and look at them and compare the two so you can see what 3 inches really is.

side note...two 17 inchers (non apple) is pretty nice as well.

It's 30% more pixels. Comparing inches is kind of silly, since they're rectangular, not linear.

Whether its worth it or not is up to you.

if suffer from hyperopia 30% for $500 is a bust

20" cinema display = 41cm high x 47.1cm wide
23" cinema display = 45cm high x 53.6cm wide

You could try using a large sheet of paper (or sticking several smaller sheets together) and draw out both displays and cut them out, then see which one fits best on your desk/wall (or wherever you want to put it).

With the 23", you would be able to view full 1080i/p HD videos. Also, it is slightly brighter than the 20".

Unless you set on absolutely needing the Apple logo and aluminium casing; I would not pass the offerings from Dell by.

I have a dual Dell 2001FP (4:3 1600x1200) in silver displays and functionally and in terms of screen quality they beat the 20" Cinema Display IMHO; and I used to sell the things! The 23" ACD is brighter than the 20" although that is terribly subjective.

Dell's offerings however in terms of functionality and screen quality are excellent, the only difference being they don't have an Apple logo and the bezel is plastic (but not cheap rubbish either).

I got two brand new 2001FPs in silver for a grand total of £500. (Yes, still £49 cheaper than a new 20" ACD) Effective screen space of 3200x1200.

I thought the same but when you go look at them up close the 20in looks tiny compared to the 23 and the 23 is hi def. but it is alot more money though

I have a 20 inch iMac and I cant think of anything bigger...its already huge.

im having the same problem at the minute, i cant decide.....but i think the best bet is to get 2 20 inches for £1000--roughly smae price as one 23" give or take nd you get 40 inches!

Well, it is all about whether or not you need that big of a work space. If you are into graphic design and the sort, than 23" would be the better way out. If all you use it for though is the regular stuff than save your hard earned $500, and just get the 20".

It makes a lot more sense to go with the 20''
