Yes, it's also for the PPC Macs. I just installed it on my iMac G5 2.1Ghz iSight. They even fixed the percentage problem on the calculator that a person here on Mac Forums was having problems with the other day. It now does percentage correctly.

This may sound rediculous but does anyone on a G4 Powerbook besides me notice that safari feels faster? I doubt it, I'm probably just thinking that.

Ok so for something that definately changed, I have a logitech MX1000 and titlting the scroll wheel left used to open spotlight and it doesn't anymore. Also the vertical scroll down button doesn't do the same thing as command tab anymore. Kinda weird.

I agree. I dont know about all of you, but I have felt a slight slow down on my iMac G5 1.8Ghz machine, during the restart/startup

Apple does updates on a regular basis to fix problems and such. If you assumed that everything was hunky-dorey out of the box you were sadly mistaken. I'm glad they do this as it just avoids more problems down the road.

Reason for the updates is because viruses are becoming more popular for Macs. We have 4 know virus which have just been patched. The last virus release was in february. When I purchased my MBP, the recommend to buy the .Mac as well because of it's new feature, virus filtering...It's starting to get scary. But nothing to worry, Apple will never let t become like windows.

Viruses or vulnerabilities open for exploit? I think it is the latter. AFAIK there are still no real world viruses for the Mac.

Viruses...articles named them as trojans and backdoors. Plus thats what the apple store told me.

Agreed. Basically if you downloaded a virus you have to give it permission to install on your computer.

Also these updates are not very common actually. If apple sees the need to patch something they do it and it is a very simple download. Usually there is one every couple of months or so. Nothing too crazy.
