applications question

ok. another noob question. I have a new (to me at least) powerbook G4 1GHz 512mb ram 17". I am enjoying it very much. I plan on adding another 1G of ram sometime this week. It's previous owner had installed alot of software that is a little more than I can use at this time. Adobe creative suite 2, final cut pro, and a ton of other video editing software. Of course i have none of the original disks for any of this software. I am getting back in to video editing (i previously used Premire on my windows machine) and imovie is working just fine for me right now. I don't need all of the extra software, especially all of the Adobe stuff. Other than photoshop, i can't see myself using anything else in that suite.
My question is, is there any way to save or back up all of this software so it can be installed at a later time? I could use the disk space. Is it as easy as just burning it to a disk...? I am new to mac's. obiously. Any help would be apreciated.

i think an external hard drive would work. but i may be wrong

Hmm, well first of all I'll point out that you aren't allowed to use the apps unless you have or purchase licenses for them.

Assuming that's what you've done, you can't just copy the apps themselves to a disc and then copy them back again as most advanced apps need additional files located in your user->library and system library folders.
