Chromecast installation trouble

Using a 2011 Macbook Pro with Yosemite

Bought Chromecast from Google for $35

Visited google.com/chromecast/setup

tried to install as per instructions. But I find no such app using the finder and/or 'locate' in a terminal window.

However, when I re-visit google.com/chromecast/setup I'm told it is already installed, and I see no way to download the installer again

Did you check "System Preferences" and look among the other apps at the bottom to see if Chromecast installed an icon there?
