Fixes an issue where sometimes alarms and timers could fail to play
As someone who uses his phone as an alarm clock, I don't like that this was an issue to begin with. Glad it's fixed though.

After the last update my ipad2 won't complete an iCloud backup. I wish it would!

How?

iTunes only offers 'Setup as a new device' or 'Setup using a backup of a previous device'. Neither is of any use now the devices are setup directly rather than via iTunes.

So I am going to end up with a £500 iPhone that 'might' restore eventually from iCloud and a £500 iPad Air2 (2 months old) which will lose everything as it still refuses to backup to the cloud (presumably sending up to 128GB via a 512kbps upload would take forever?)

Therefore I can't update my Watch either as it doesn't offer the option to update with the iPhone on iOS8

Then there is something else wrong. You should be able to backup to your Mac using iTunes prior to updating your devices.

Huge relief. Although it took most of the weekend, all four devices have now updated - the iPhone and Watch took all Friday evening, then the iPad Air 2 took all Saturday to Backup to the Cloud and this morning it has updated successfully. The older iPad Mini 2 was updated earlier as a test before risking the three current devices.

A very tense time, but all went through without any problems. The Watch did spend a long time verifying before installing but it went ahead eventually.

So far, the Find Friends app has come back out of the folder and the Newsstand seems to stay out on the Home screen now, plus the keyboard is harder to read (although more accurate in a way) with the lower-case letters. Apart from that nothing much seems changed. Not keen on the new way of viewing currently loaded apps. Is it my imagination or did the folders have 3 apps on a line before compared with 4 per line now?

Incidentally, the iPad seems to have updated without unloading the apps I had loaded - which is pretty impressive :)
