powerbook 1GHz PowerPC G4 1MB L3 cache 1.5 GB DDR SDRAM
I know it may be a rookie question, but how do i back up my HD?
does doing so back up all installed programs? (used powerbook, lots of software, but no install disks.)

Easy solution is an external Firewire hard drive + Carbon Copy Cloner. Clones the whole hard drive to a file or makes a disk-to-disk clone. Very handy, easy, and free.
