Hello there,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it but I give a try.
I watch TV via IPTV device. What is the difference in practice between Wi-Fi N300 and Wi-Fi N450 adapter ?
I know N450 has faster speed but in my IPTV and in my iMac what differences I will see ?

Thanks in advance.

You're going to have to provide a lot more info than that.

You could start reading here.

However, if the download speed of the internet connection you pay for is slower than the download speed an N300 device can deliver, then you would likely not see any difference when streaming from the internet between the 2 of them.

A lot would have to do with which manufacturer's device you buy, the features it has, how many devices are using your network simultaneously and the list goes on.

(Moving to the "Internet, Networking,Wireless" forum.)

Thank you, I'm interested only for Wi-Fi not for Internet speed.

What makes are those routers? Either take a look at their spec sheets for a sense of their bandwidth capabilities or let us know what the makes are and we can help you decide.

Not enough info...

In your first post and the very title of the thread, you specifically tied this to watching TV via IPTV. That is directly related to your download speed (i.e. streaming from the internet) and the speed at which the individual servers you stream from can deliver their content.

Wi-fi has to do with delivery of data inside your local network and what all you are doing on that network - as in how many devices are connected simultaneously, what those devices are doing (such as backing up via Time Machine while trying to simultaneously stream a 20Mbps HD movie) etc.

You need to tell us what you are doing on your network.

What specific devices are you looking at (N300 and N450 are technologies and tells us almost nothing about any other features that may be included in a particular modem or router)?

Thanks a lot both of you, my IPTV has two options. To watch over the Internet or watch via Wi-Fi. At this time I'm interested only for watching via Wi-Fi.
I have a modem router (300+1300 Mbps) and it is connected to this network 3 devices of each band, total 6. (iMac, iPad, Netgear adapter N600 in 5GHz and iPhone + 2 Windows laptop in 2.4GHz).
I'm looking for Netgear N600 and Netgear N900. I own the first but I wondering if the N900 will be better in IPTV's quality or download speed or anywhere else. (I have the option to download the files from IPTV device to my iMac)
