Hello y'all. I fairly recently bought an iMac and would like to connect another monitor via VGA. From what I understand, I need a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter to make this possible. However, today I received that adapter in the mail and tried to set up the new monitor. When plugging everything in and making sure the monitor has power, I don't get anything coming to the monitor. I don't know if I have to change any settings or anything, but I haven't been able to find anything that helps.
I've tried using 2 monitors (Samsung SyncMaster 712N, and a Dell that I can't find the name of), and on both I don't receive an image.
Some information:
The adapter
