iPhone 5 isn't charging

Hey guys. My iPhone 5 doesn't charge. But when I turn it off and plug in the charger, it turns on. Wondering what's wrong with it.

That's an indication of a failed or defective battery. Apple will replace the battery for $79.00 at the genius bar. Make an appointment first before you take it to them. There are kits you can buy to change out the battery yourself, however, I recommend letting Apple do the job.
