Latest Yosemite Update Slowed Mail for Me

MBP, OS X Mavericks 10.9.2, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7,16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
I notice a distinct lag between clicking on a message or an action in mail and the desired action actually occurring since I updated to 10.10.4.

Anyone else have that concern? Any thoughts about how to remedy the problem?

It happens here too. A real pain in the rear which hopefully gets dealt with in El Capitan. And there's no way to remedy it.
