Alas Quake 4

To my great sorrow Quake 4 (app store version) does not work on El Capitan Beta. This is a little odd though because Doom 3 works fine. I may need to reload it. Any hints?

El Capitan is a beta version of OS X. I'm going to guess that this is why (as a rule of thumb, never be surprised if something doesn't work in beta quality software).

WHAT. Are you telling me that not every piece of software ever written for the Mac does not instantaneously update itself for each and every release of beta software???

I FOR ONE AM SHOCKED. Shocked, I say.

Thanks chas-m, just reporting what I find, this is the Apps & Games forum after all and one of the purposes of that is to let people know that what may be their favourite app or game may not work if they upgrade, or not yet.
In any case I checked in to let everyone know that after deletion and downloading again from the App Store while in 10.10.4 has resulted in a copy of Quake 4 which works perfectly as does Prey and Doom 3.
