saving pdf to ibook on macbook air

Is there a way to save a pdf file (small pamphlet) to ibook? If not any suggestions on where to save.

I had to look this up because I don't use iBooks often adding pdfs to iBooks is as simple as dragging them into iBooks. You could also launch iBooks and choose Add to Library from the File menu.

I picked ibook just for the heck of it. where would you put an attachment file or any written file to read latter?
very new to mac computer. steep learning curve

iBooks is probably as good a place as any though I bet other members will have some other organization suggestions.
