OK, which one should I get? Missing Sync or PocketMac?

Which of these two programs should I get to sync a PocketPC (Axim x30 mid) to Entourage?

Well, turns out PocketMac promises more, but doesn't actually work, so I guess Missing Sync it is.

I have had better luck with Missing Sync but both leave a lot to be desired to be honest.

You're absolutely right. Lack of Notes synching and the low speed even when connected directly are my biggest complaints. But at least it got my Calendar back, which for me is actually much more important than all the other features combined.
