Installed 10.10.4 Yosemite now my mac boots from a different drive I have to hold option key during boot to select the drive I installed Yosemite on to boot. How can I default to the correct drive for boot up?

We don't know what computer you have…or it's hardware setup. But if you have multiple bootable volumes to choose from on this computer…you must either have a hard drive with at least two bootable partitions…or two bootable devices installed…or connected externally.

To choose which bootable drive to boot from go to:

- Apple Menu
- System Preferences
- Startup Disk
- Then click on the drive you want to boot from.

Try System Preferences > Startup Disc and highlight the Yosemite drive.
