By restoring the previous version of OS X from your backup would be the easiest way. No backup? You haven't told us anything about your Mac and which version of OS X it was running before you updated to Yosemite.

Before giving up on Yosemite, have you tried to find out if Canon had an updated driver for your printer?

Hello and welcome to the forum! :) Why is your printer not working w/ Yosemite? Have you gone to the Canon website to see if a firmware upgrade is needed or if the appropriate drivers are installed? From a 2006 review HERE, your printer is 'ancient' (electronics are like 'dog years') - so, please provide further information on your computer (model/year) and whether w/ your upgrade to Yosemite is working well - if you cannot resolve the issue w/ my initial suggestions, then a new printer is certainly a consideration - let us know your thoughts? Dave :)
