MBP 15" 2010. It recently stopped powering up - with or without the power connected.

Battery meter on side of machine indicates it's fully charged.

Removed the battery as part of troubleshooting. Then it powers up ok. I put the battery back in, and the machine stopped powering up.

I just got a new battery yesterday. Same problem. As long as there is a battery in the machine, it won't power up.

If I put the battery back in the machine while it was powered up, and the machine continued to work.

And it shows that it's charging the battery. I can even reboot it - no problem.

But as soon as I power down, it won't come back up. Gotta remove the battery again.

I used the coconut battery tool for a checkout. Coco seems to think all is well.

I also tried resetting SMC.

Any suggestions/advice is appreciated.

In the process of troublshooting, I removed the battery.
