What game did you download? If the game was designed for PPC Macs it's not going to install or if the game is not compatible with Mavericks it won't work. (OS X 10.9.5 is Mavericks not Yosemite)

Hi Tom - welcome to the forum! :) Please clarify the OS X installed on your computer, i.e. the current version of Yosemite is 10.10.3; also provide the model/year of your machine. Finally, what is the name of the game and from where was it acquired? Dave

thanks for the speedy response, much appreciated. the game i downloaded was company of heroes tales of valor i got it from the pirate bay however i had already purchased it on the app store last year, it got deleted when i forgot to back up my computer. Im currently living in a country with unbelievably slow internet and i found that when i re-downloaded it from the app store it would get to 2gb then go back to 0 repetitively.

My mac is a retina 13 inch early 2003 it says i have os x software 10.9.5 (13F1077) and i'm pretty sure its yosemite though i am currently updating it (says it's gonna take 3 days with this internet!!)

thanks

No help for pirated software here. Get a valid copy from the Mac App Store and we can help you further if it still doesn't work..
