"From" field is missing in apple mail

The "From" field is missing when composing a new mail in apple mail. Tried to add the additional email address in front of default email address separated by a comma. But it isn't possible to edit same. Please help

Which version of OSX are you running? Main has changed a bit with some newer versions so we need to know the exact OSX you have installed.
