Time Machine Help Needed

27" iMac (late 2013) El Capitan. iPad Mini.
Although I have been a Mac owner for over 8 years now, I have never needed to restore anything from Time Machine. Now, today I did something, and I have no idea what, very silly. While trying to assemble some order in my photos in Lightroom, I seem to have deleted my entire catalogue. Over 2000 pictures. Would anyone out there who uses Lightroom know if it's possible to restore the whole Lightroom library from Time Machine? Thanks in anticipation.

It should be possible to restore just about anything from Time Machine provided you have been making full backups and Time Machine is working OK. The Lightroom library can be restored from your latest Time Machine backup. Do you know how to use Time Machine to do a restore? How to restore from Time Machine
