Left Command N doesn't work

I have read a number of forums about the Left Command sequences not working with the bottom row of letters. I am able to copy (C), paste (V), undo (Z) and cut (X) no problem - it is just the New (N) command sequence that is not working. The Right COmmand N sequence works fine.

Any suggestions? I use an Apple wired keyboard on a Mac Mini on yosemite. Interesting - just found out I cannot do an upper case y - left or right SHIFT key.

Well now that is bizarre. You might want to try resetting the PRAM. Among the many settings it stores, one of them is related to key repeat rate. Not sure if that applies, but it doesn't hurt to try.
