Why images being changed to icon size?

Found the Solution
I just found the solution to my problem of the images from my desktop being reduced to illegible icon size when I transfer to mail program ... There's a tiny box on the sent mail that has three sizes: small, medium and large. Somehow, that box was either clicked or went to small by itself.
I've had problems with my new desktop deciding to mute the sound in Preferences without my knowing, or to make other changes without my knowledge and out of my control; then I have to try to figure out how to undo it.
Very irritating.
But at least this new problem is solved.
