I have an old ipod (I think 3rd generation) that I bought a few years ago from a friend. It's the little square one. (the ipod, not the friend) It has been great all this time; I listen to books when I travel. It worked fine yesterday, but this morning when I wanted to delete some books and add others, I plugged in the cable to the computer, but the icon never came on the desktop, and itunes doesn't recognize the device.
I unplugged the cable, and I see on the screen some of my books--those that will fit onto the screen, but can do nothing. It will not respond to anything. Will not shut off, will not move up and down, will not start playing the book that is selected. Basically it's frozen.
Is it a goner, or is there something I can do?
Thanks for any suggestions.
