Hi folks- can anyone tell me how well the new 5K iMacs work with the Adobe CC products, specifically with this configuration:
3.3GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x8GB
1TB Fusion Drive
AMD Radeon R9 M290 2GB GDDR5

Should work very well even with the entry level 5K iMac that is new in the Apple store. And welcome to the Mac Forums.

It would probably be best to define "work well". Since work well can mean different things to different people.:)

I don't have the 5K retina iMac you mentioned. But there's no reason to believe that since this is a fairly high-end iMac configuration that it wouldn't handle Adobe products just fine.:)

There really aren't that many more powerful Mac models to choose from.:)

Thanks for the quick response and the welcome. I have just been hearing a lot of grumbling about the graphics card in these new iMacs and their ability to play well with Adobe. Most of my work is in documentary filmmaking, so I do not do a lot of elaborate AfterEffects or 3D work but I need a machine that is robust.

We haven't heard anything negative about any of the new 5K iMacs. But as Nick pointed out, there aren't many Macs that are more powerful than the one you intend to buy. You have 2 weeks to test it and if it doesn't meet your expectations, return it for a full refund.
