As my Mac Pro ran out of internal space I purchased external hard drives to compensate so I could alleviate some of the stress from desktop. I now have all my files split between my mac and two external hard drives. Is there any way to set up time machine so it backs up all these locations?

Make sure your external drives are connected and fully accessible, then open up the Time Machine preferences. Make sure those external drives aren't in the exclusions list. If so, remove them. You should be good to go.

Very good! So anything connected and on will automatically get added to the backup?

Supposedly, from what I've read. Just try it. You can easily check your backup later to see if it was done.
