Sometimes after my iMac has been sleeping for a while, when it wakes up, I get a white screen for a few seconds before the screen fills in. Does this indicate a problem?
It's an iMac running OSX 10.8.5.
Thanks!

I assume you do not have to enter a password when you wake it up. I wouldn't think a few seconds of white would be a problem. If it clears in a few seconds I would not panic.

Maybe someone else will have a different idea.

I've had similar things before without it being an issue. Once in a while though you will see similar behavior if the hard drive needs minor directory repair. Use Disk Utility to verify the drive and repair any problem. Note that you are doing a disk repair not permission repair.
