airplay icon missing

Trying to use airplay from my iPhone 6 with IOS8.3 to AppleTV. The icon on the screen does not show up - only "air drop." It does show up on my wife's iPhone and works well. Any setting I need to change? I have rebooted the iPhone without help

You will only see the AirPlay icon on your iPhone when it is using the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV. So check both devices to ensure that this is in fact the case.

I only have one wifi setup in the house. As I said, 2 iPads and one other iPhone 6 do show the icon.
