My Pop Barrier - help changing security preferences

I downloaded the spam preview program MyPopBarrier and I can't instal it onto my imac

After clicking to instal it, I get this message .....

“MyPopBarrier” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers."

I gather this has happened because my security preferences are narrowed to the app store etc.

Can someone tell me how I can change these preferences? I don't know ..... (I've only been using the imac for about 3 days ..... convert from 20 years on Windows!!)

Or does someone know why I shouldn't be using this program? Online reviews are good .....

If you feel this app was downloaded from a safe source. Then simply right-click on the app's installer…and choose open.
