My late 2009 iMac has begun to shut down with no warning. It will restart through use of the on/off button on the rear of the machine. The iMac feels warmer than normal on its top most of the time. I have a screenshot which shows internal temps which I would include in this message if I knew how. Any assistance in placing the screen shot or information concerning normal operating temps would be appreciated.

Temps: HD McIntosh: 137
CPU: 125
Ambient: 74
GPU Diode 146
GPU Heatsink: 142
Mem Controller 126
Optical Drive: 124
Power Supply 2: 166

It is possible that your iMac is overheating (given the sudden shutting off symptom). But we would need to see those temps to make a better judgement.

If including a screenshot is holding things up…just list the temps & their locations.:)
