But I already have a 1080p Dell 23" monitor I got last year that has really nice colors. Wondering if this monitor would be any better.

My 2011 Macbook Pro would work on it yes?

I sometimes do graphic design work and gaming on my Macbook.

Don't get me wrong…Apple Cinema displays are nice (good color, and just nice looking). But two things:

- I'm going to guess that the display resolution on your HP display is 1920 x 1080. The 20" Apple display is 1680x1050. Thus smaller in resolution and smaller diagonally (20" vs. 23").
- If you use the Apple display…then what do you do with the HP display?

$40 I think is a very good price…so you could get it "just because".:) But consider the two things mentioned above too.:)

OK I guess if one can use it or even needs it and can drive a standard DVI display and hope that it's still in good condition with good color output as it may have been in use since 2008 and just might be getting a bit tired. Especially if you do critical graphic design work and at 16ms Response Time, it might be just a wee bit slow for your gaming. But it should be OK for any Tetris etc. games and no lag. ;) :D

Your choice…??? ;)

Yes…these older Apple displays are on the slower response time curve.;)
