pages and garage band apps aren't free anymore

so I bought a Macbook Pro 15.4 retina and used it for a few months but then decided to reinstall the OS cause the Apple ID i chose i ended up not liking. everything was fine until I attempted to use Garage band and now its not on the machine and they want $5 for it...then i tried to update my resume with pages and that app is gone too. they want $20.... i just paid off this $2700 computer and my apps are gone....what gives

The Pages and Garageband apps are probably tied to the Apple ID that you don't like. In order to get them back without paying is to login to the App Store using the Apple ID that you don't like.
